Worlds Festival Giovanni Pellegri – All the things I have never dared to ask

Meetings

Event looking at the biology of sexuality with the participation of Giovanni Pellegri, neurobiologist and former presenter of the programme “Il Giardino di Albert” on RSI. The event tells stories of animal biology from around the world which invite us to reflect on who we are at the same time.

Our body and our cells in fact carry the signs of a long evolutionary history that has also moulded the shape of our sexual organs. Why do they have that shape and that size? Sexuality, from a biological point of view, is an amazing mix of hormones and the brain, but in men and in women sexuality springs from a relationship and becomes love, creates and colours, produces fantasy, art and thought. Thus emerges the human being: that spectacular mix of cells and thinking, of hormones and desire.

Giovanni Pellegri (Lugano, 1966), doctor of neurobiology, looks at the debate between science and society. In addition to presenting the television programme “Il Giardino di Albert” on RSI, he is the manager of L’ideatorio, a service of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), which was created to promote scientific culture.
