Salmo, pseudonym of Maurizio Pisciottu, born in 1984, started writing his first rhymes very young; in 2011 he debuted with his first album, The Island Chainsaw Massacre, which made him nationally known. The following year, he released his second album, Death USB. In the same year he won the MTV Hip Hop Award in the Best Crossover category. In 2013, with Midnite, he reached the top spot in the Italian album charts with Midnite in 2013, earning him a gold disc. A versatile artist, Salmo collaborated with Jovanotti for whom he signed the video clip for Sabato; he later opened the concerts of Lorenzo Cherubini’s Tour 2015 by Lorenzo Cherubini. In 2017, he also measured himself as an actor, starring in the short film
Nuraghes S’arena by Mauro Aragoni.
Eclectic, non-conformist, provocative, Salmo was the first rap-crossover rock artist to perform at the San Siro Stadium, in front of 50 thousand people, and now has over 2.9 billion total streams, 67 platinum records and 41 gold records. His latest album FLOP was certified triple platinum and has reached over 250 million streams.
