Raffaella Castagna is an illustrator and author of books for children and teenagers. She graduated in scenography from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan. She published in Italy with historical publishers and with emerging publishers (Coccinella, Artebambini, Lapis, Pulcivolanti, Astragalo, Fabbri), designing fully illustrated books and books or illustrating texts by other authors, with a particular eye towards the world of art. In 2020 she published a series of high-contrast black and white books for toddlers with the S&S Alliance in China and many other countries. Among these, “A day for the little ones” in 2021 was a finalist of the Italian national prize “Born to Read”. She is a freelance journalist and has collaborated with many magazines like Focus Pico, Focus Junior, Style Piccoli and Il Giornalino. She designs and conducts original artistic/creative workshops in nursery and primary schools or in libraries and, again, in museums and art galleries.
