Gilberto Gil, a legendary Brazilian musician, embarked on a musical journey that began with the accordion in the 50s and led him to explore various genres and rhythms. Influenced by artists like Luiz Gonzaga, João Gilberto, and Dorival Caymmi, Gil’s music evolved into unique and personal forms. His collaboration with Caetano Veloso gave birth to the Tropicalismo movement, which challenged the dictatorship and led to their exile in London. Celebrating his 50-year career, he performed alongside Caetano Veloso in a historic show and released the acclaimed album “Ok Ok OK,” winning a Latin Grammy. In 2022, Gil celebrated his 80th birthday with a European tour, captured for an Amazon Prime Video series.
